Chequered Plates

MS chequered plates (also called tear-drop plates or floor plates) are hot-rolled mild steel plates with a raised diamond or tear-drop pattern on one face that provides anti-slip grip. Used for flooring, stair treads, platforms and vehicle bodies. SIIPL stocks 3 mm to 12 mm thicknesses.

FAQ

Is chequered plate thickness measured with or without the pattern?

The nominal thickness is measured at the plate body (excluding the raised pattern). The pattern adds approximately 1 to 2 mm depending on plate thickness.

What is the difference between tear-drop and diamond chequered plate?

Tear-drop has elongated tear-shaped projections in a 4-direction pattern offering grip from any angle. Diamond pattern has smaller diamond bumps. Tear-drop is more common in Indian construction.

How do I get a price for Chequered Plates?

Send the exact size, grade, approved make, quantity and delivery location. Request a dated quotation with validity, taxes, freight and processing charges clearly stated; chart weights are not a price or stock commitment.

Are all listed Chequered Plates sizes available immediately?

The size chart is a reference, not a live inventory feed. Confirm the requested size, grade, make, available lengths, minimum order quantity and dispatch schedule with SIIPL before placing an order.

What should I confirm about mill certificates and billed weight?

Include your mill test certificate, material marking and heat-number traceability requirements in the enquiry. Agree whether billing uses actual weighed weight or another stated basis, and request the relevant weight records before order confirmation.

Can I enquire about exporting Chequered Plates from India?

Yes. Share the destination country and port, exact product standard and grade, quantity, delivery schedule, packing and inspection requirements. SIIPL reviews export requirements individually; destination compliance and commercial terms must be agreed for the order.
